Golem vs. Dragon, Fight of the Century! Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets!

I told Verwildert I'd draw a dragon one night. So I did. I then asked her what should the dragon be fighting, she said something Earthy. So I chose a golem. Then I wanted to emphasize the darkness and chaos, so I set it during a night time volcanic eruption. I've even come to like the idea enought that I've formulated a whole story behind it. Maybe material for a movie someday... maybe.

The final product is messy and confusing, showing the seams of its peicemeal construction. But the overwhelming blackness of the final product really made me like it more. And it reproduced pretty well here, too. Which helps. On the original you can see where one sharpie died and another took over and where I changed inks altogether. Kind of distracts from the final product. It was alot of fun, and the golem was a blast to draw. I may do this picture again, later. With more of the ideas in mind at the start. Possibly with a bigger scope and bigger paper! :lmao:

my favorite aspect is just the overall shape/composition the characters form.

I really like the movement that you portray in this. And all the diamond-shapes that you use in your work are really unique I think. I wish you could see more of the volcano though!

I wish there was more volcano too. It was a challenge to get it in there at all. :(

For once I'm not rooting for the dragon.. perhaps it's because I know the story behind this giant stone with a heart, hmm?

This is really amazing... I like that you blacked out the background, and I like the way the figures sorta fade into the black. The detail is just beautiful... and the contrast is awesome. You so totally rock. :|:horns:
